Hello my family!

This passage really blessed me and made me think of this song: “Jesus, You are the pillar that supports my life. Precious Jesus, You are the pillar that supports my life.”

It reminds me of the story of Samson. When he brought down the two pillars that supported the house, the whole house fell. And this brings us to ask ourselves a question:

What is your support?

What are we placing our trust in?

Some people place their trust in their jobs, because work allows them to survive and earn money. But a contract can come to an end, a company can go bankrupt, and we can lose our jobs.

So, in whom do you place your trust?

Is it in temporary, seasonal things that are here today but may disappear tomorrow?

The Word of God tells us:

“Cursed is the man who trusts in man.”
— Jeremiah 17:5

But it also says:

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD!”
— Jeremiah 17:7

Jesus is our rock

Jesus is compared to a stumbling stone, but also to a cornerstone.

It also reminds us of these words:

“The one who builds his house on the rock”

The storms will come, the winds will blow, but the house built on the rock will not fall.

“But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.” — Matthew 7:26

The sand represents all these temporary, passing, and fleeting things. But the rock is stable. Our rock is Jesus, because He is eternal.

Everything will come to an end at the grave, but Jesus remains even beyond the grave.

So, beloved, what is your support? Is it a person, your job, your money, or is it the LORD?

If you had to choose between your job and Jesus, what would you choose?

Are we ready to trust Him? Are we ready to take the first step into the unknown simply because He has asked us to?

To believe is also to obey Him

Jesus is a responsible Father. His Word will not fall without producing its effect.

When we truly believe in Jesus and receive Him as Lord and Savior, we acknowledge that He is the master of our lives. We must therefore obey His Word.

The world may tell us: “Do this.”

But the Word of God may tell us: “No, do this.”

Trusting Him means choosing His Word, even when it seems difficult. It sometimes means sacrificing our passions, our own desires, and what we want to do, because we believe in Jesus and want to obey Him.

Whoever believes in Him will not be put to shame.

It is never too late to return to the rock

Perhaps we have already built on shifting sand. Perhaps we have made decisions that were not based on the Word of God.

But beloved, it is never too late.

As long as we still have the breath of life, it is always possible to return to the right path, to return to the Rock of Ages, to the cornerstone, and to begin rebuilding our house on the Word of Jesus.

The world lives in confusion because it has abandoned the Rock and is building on sand.

But even today, we can return to Jesus.

A short prayer

Lord, we have heard Your Word. Today, I want to return to You. I want to believe in You again and trust Your Word.

I have built enough on things that move. I have built enough on fragile foundations. Today, I return to You.

I want to build on the Rock. I want to build on Your Word.

Lord, deliver me from confusion. I believe in You, I believe in Your Word, and I am convinced that whoever believes in You will not be put to shame.
