Sermon by Pastor Ben-Israël Bible Passage: 2 Timothy 1:6
“Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.” — 2 Timothy 1:6 (KJV)
Shalom!
I hope you are in good health this morning.
I am Pastor Ben-Israël, and I declare this morning that grace and peace be multiplied to you from our God and His Son Jesus Christ.
1. Stir Up the Gift of God Within You
2 Timothy 1:6
I see in 2 Timothy 1:6 a phrase that has deeply touched me.
It is the phrase in which Timothy is told to stir up his gift.
What can cause a person's gift to die?
I would like to talk about this today because I felt the Spirit prompting me to address this subject.
2. What Can Cause a Gift to Die?
What can cause a gift to die is discouragement, illness, and laziness.
It is also the lack of someone to encourage us to rekindle our gift and give it strength again.
Discouragement, illness, laziness, and a lack of encouragement can prevent someone from exercising their gift.
3. Reviving Your Gift Means Making It Breathe Again
I went into the Hebrew text, or the meaning of the word “revive.”
To revive means to make something breathe again.
There are people who have allowed death to enter because they no longer exercise their gifts.
They no longer exercise what God has given them.
Through the laying on of hands, during a prayer, or in a particular atmosphere, you received a gift.
That gift desires to come back to life and must come back to life because it is beneficial to the body of Christ.
4. May Your Gift Come Back to Life in the Name of Jesus!
I declare this morning:
You who once had a gift of dreams, you who had a gift of interpretation, a gift of wisdom;
You who had any gift that God gave you, a gift of healing, a gift of miracles, a prophetic gift, or a gift of spiritual sight;
I declare, by the power of the Holy Spirit, that this gift comes back to life this morning, in the name of Jesus!
Conclusion: May God Revive Your Gift
To this end, I invite us to go directly into the text of 2 Timothy, which we are going to explore.
And I am certain that we will all be blessed.
