Sermon by Pastor Ben-Israël
Introduction: The Two Revelations in Hebrews 1
Shalom, beloved in the Lord!
We are in Hebrews chapter 1.
Today, I intend to speak to us, exhort us, and edify us, knowing that God will do great things through today's passages.
I am Pastor Ben-Israël.
I have divided Hebrews 1 into two points, with subpoints within them.
Listen.
1. The Revelation of Christ, the Son of God
The first thing I find in Hebrews 1 is the revelation of Christ, the Son of God.
We all know that the Bible says:
“This is my Son, in whom I have placed all my trust.”
But we are going to see why God calls Him Son.
He calls Him Son because He has never compared Him with anyone else.
The word “Son” contains a Greek word: monogenes, meaning “only Son.”
The word monogenes means “incomparable.”
Abraham had two sons: Isaac and Ishmael. Yet God said to him:
“Give me your son, your only son.”
Yet he had two sons.
Why “your only son”?
Because Abraham never compared Isaac with Ishmael.
Even when it came to choosing between sending Hagar away and keeping Ishmael and Sarah, God was clear. He said:
“I agree with your wife Sarah's proposal.”
You Are Unique Before God
I am telling someone:
You are God's monogenes!
Someone whom God never compares with anyone else.
You have unique gifts. You have unique abilities. You have a unique mission to fulfill on earth.
That is why God will never compare you with anyone else on this earth.
You are unique because you carry Jesus Christ within you.
And I prophesy over your life:
Because of your difference, God loves you in a special way, for He makes a distinction between those who serve Him and those who do not.
Because of your obedience, just as Christ obeyed the Father, you will experience great things before the end of this year.
This is my prophecy for you.
Jesus Is Greater Than All the Prophets
Now listen to the revelations we find concerning Christ and the subpoints within them.
The first thing is that Jesus is greater than all the prophets who existed in ancient times.
Jesus Is More Powerful Than All Men
Secondly, He is more powerful than all men.
He is more powerful than Moses.
He is even more powerful than Elijah, who called down fire.
Jesus is the most powerful who has ever existed on this earth.
Jesus Has the Power to Forgive Sins
The third subpoint is that He has the power to forgive sins.
He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.
Jesus Is Exalted in Dignity and Holds a Position of Authority
The fourth point is that He is exalted in dignity.
The Bible says that God seated Him at the right hand of the Father.
What does this statement mean?
It does not mean that there are three chairs in heaven: one throne for the Son, one throne for the Father, and one throne for the Holy Spirit.
No, there is only one throne in heaven.
But what is the meaning behind being seated at the right hand of the Father?
It means that Christ occupies the position of authority. Christ occupies the position of strength.
The Bible says that God delivered Israel from the hands of the Egyptians with His outstretched right arm.
This means that He delivered them from Pharaoh's hands with irresistible strength.
Prayer: May God Deliver You by His Mighty Arm
I pray that God delivers you from every situation that is weighing you down.
May God deliver you from every bondage of sin.
May God deliver you from every illness.
May God deliver you from unemployment, singleness, and every battle affecting your finances.
May God deliver you from all these things by His strong and mighty arm!
Jesus Is Greater Than the Angels and All Servants
He is greater than the angels.
He is also greater than all servants, even those who appear like flames of fire.
The Bible says in this passage that His angels are winds and His servants are flames of fire.
But Jesus remains greater than all the servants of God who have ever existed on this earth.
2. The Revelation of Christ's Divinity and Kingship
I will quickly move to my second point: the revelation of Christ's divinity.
Is Jesus truly God?
This creates many debates and controversies.
But I ask you to listen carefully, because I am going to speak about the foundation of Christianity.
This is the foundation of Christian doctrine on which we stand.
This second point will also reveal the kingship of Christ.
It therefore concerns both the divinity and the kingship of Christ.
The Father Himself Calls Jesus God
My first subpoint is found in verse 8.
The Bible says that the Father Himself calls Him God.
Jesus is God just as the Father is God.
In Ephesians, the Bible says that He did not regard His equality with God.
When we say that He did not regard His equality with God, we mean that Christ is equal to the Father, but He did not hold on to that equality.
He humbled Himself.
Humbling oneself demonstrates the ability to lay aside power.
Of His own free will, He said:
“No, I am God, but let me take the place of man.”
“I have all power, but let me lower myself to become even lower than the angels for a time.”
But He later regained His position because, after His death, He said:
“All power has been given to me.”
I announce to you that Jesus is God!
And regardless of your situation, Jesus, as God, will intervene in that situation.
Regardless of what you are going through today.
Regardless of life's equations.
Regardless of the confusion and difficulties in which you find yourself.
Jesus has the solution to what you are experiencing, because He is equal to the Father.
Jesus Received an Anointing Superior to That of His Predecessors
My second subpoint is that He received an anointing superior to that of all His predecessors.
He received an anointing greater than Saul's anointing.
He received an anointing greater than David's anointing.
He received an anointing that cannot be compared with that of any of His predecessors.
Jesus Is Eternal: He Does Not Change
The third subpoint develops the revelation of His kingship.
He is the Eternal One. He is Rabbi. He does not change.
He is an eternal God.
He remains the Lord of lords and the King of kings.
Jesus Is Greater Than David and Has an Eternal Throne
My fourth and final subpoint is that He is greater than David, who received the eternal promise.
The Bible says that there will always be a descendant of David on the throne of Israel, of Judah.
But here, we are shown that it was not David who was being spoken of, but Christ, the Messiah who was to come.
It was for Him that the promise was reserved: that His throne would not be moved or shaken.
Prayer: May Every Throne of the Enemy Be Overthrown
I am praying right now.
If there is a throne that the enemy has already established in your life, as mentioned in Revelation, where Satan had established his throne and succeeded in killing Antipas;
I pray that if Satan has already established his throne in your life to scheme against you and manipulate your life, may that throne be overthrown by the power of the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus!
Final Blessing
Have an excellent day, everyone!
I firmly believe that you will receive other revelations today that the Holy Spirit will give you, concerning His thoughts and His Word.
May God bless you abundantly!
